Koloa Youth Baseball

A message from Coach Ray...

Aloha Koloa Youth Baseball Association Ohana, Friends, and Sponsors, thank you for your tremendous support these past 10 years.

Myself and our Secretary Leslie Yamauchi will be leaving KYBA. Official transition will occur in August 2022.

I have a grandson who's a sophomore at Waimea High School, and a grandson who is a freshmen at Kauai High School. Both are pitchers, one a lefty, and decent baseball players. I need to watch them practice and play.

Kane Zalopany, who coached with me for our 2021 T-Ball season will be taking over as president. He came on as vice-president in December 2021.

Kane grew up here in Koloa and played youth baseball here in KYBA. He and his wife have 3 sons, 4, 2, and 4 months old and live here in Koloa. Kane is looking forward to taking care of our children and I believe he will do a great job at it.

It has been a fun, challenging, rewarding, and memorable 10 years leading Koloa Youth Baseball Association. When I'm 95 and sitting in my rocking chair, I will be overwhelmed with a warm heart reminiscing on these years. All of you made this happen. Your love, generosity and support were my motivation. Thank you.

Please continue to support our children. An old time coach once told me, "you can provide a place of warmth for those lost in the cold." I believe in these instances, we have, thanks to you.

Malama Pono. A hui hou.

Coach Ray
